|
بِسْمِ ٱللَّـهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ |
In the name of God, the Almighty,1 the Merciful. |
|
|
سَبِّحِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلْأَعْلَى |
872 1 Glorify1 thou the name of thy Lord, the Most High, |
|
|
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ |
2 Who created and fashioned, |
|
|
وَٱلَّذِى قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ |
3 And who determined and guided, |
|
|
وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَخْرَجَ ٱلْمَرْعَىٰ |
4 And who brought forth the pasture |
|
|
فَجَعَلَهُۥ غُثَآءً أَحْوَىٰ |
5 Then made it blackening decaying herbage1 |
|
|
سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰٓ |
6 (We will make thee recite, and thou wilt not forget.1) |
|
|
إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ إِنَّهُۥ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ |
7 Save that God should will;1 He knows the apparent and the hidden. |
|
|
وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ |
8 And We will ease thee towards ease. |
|
|
فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ |
9 So remind thou; if the reminder should benefit, |
|
|
سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰ |
10 He will take heed who fears. |
|
|
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَشْقَى |
11 But the most wretched will avoid it, |
|
|
ٱلَّذِى يَصْلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ |
12 Who will burn in the Great Fire, |
|
|
ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ |
13 Then will he neither die therein nor live. |
|
|
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ |
14 He is successful who has purified himself, |
|
|
وَذَكَرَ ٱسْمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ |
15 And remembers the name of his Lord and performs the duty.1 |
|
|
بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا |
16 The truth is,1 you prefer the life of this world |
|
|
وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ |
17 When the Hereafter is better and more enduring. |
|
|
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَفِى ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ |
18 This is in the former scriptures, |
|
|
صُحُفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ |
19 The scriptures of Abraham and Moses.1 |
