|
وَأَنَّهُۥٓ أَهْلَكَ عَادًا ٱلْأُولَىٰ |
50 And that He destroyed the former ʿĀd, |
|
|
وَثَمُودَا۟ فَمَآ أَبْقَىٰ |
51 And Thamūd He spared not, |
|
|
وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِّن قَبْلُ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ هُمْ أَظْلَمَ وَأَطْغَىٰ |
52 And the people of Noah before — they were worse in wrongdoing,1 and worse in transgression — |
|
|
وَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَةَ أَهْوَىٰ |
||
|
فَغَشَّىٰهَا مَا غَشَّىٰ |
54 And covered them with what He covered. |
|
|
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰ |
55 Then which of the blessings of thy Lord dost thou dispute? |
|
|
هَـٰذَا نَذِيرٌ مِّنَ ٱلنُّذُرِ ٱلْأُولَىٰٓ |
||
|
أَزِفَتِ ٱلْـَٔازِفَةُ |
57 The Drawing Near1 has drawn near. |
|
|
لَيْسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ كَاشِفَةٌ |
58 There is none, besides1 God, to remove it. |
|
|
أَفَمِنْ هَـٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ تَعْجَبُونَ |
59 Do you then marvel at this narrative,1 |
|
|
وَتَضْحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبْكُونَ |
60 And laugh, and not weep, |
|
|
وَأَنتُمْ سَـٰمِدُونَ |
61 While you are puffed up in heedlessness?1 |
|
|
فَٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِلَّـهِ وَٱعْبُدُوا۟ |
