|
بِسْمِ ٱللَّـهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ |
In the name of God, the Almighty,1 the Merciful. |
|
|
هَلْ أَتَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْإِنسَـٰنِ حِينٌ مِّنَ ٱلدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُن شَيْـًٔا مَّذْكُورًا |
762 1 Has there come upon man a period of time he was not a thing remembered?1 |
|
|
إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍ نَّبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ سَمِيعًۢا بَصِيرًا |
2 We created man from a sperm-drop — a mingling — that We might test him; and We made him hearing and seeing. |
|
|
إِنَّا هَدَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلسَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا |
3 We guided him on the path, be he grateful or be he ungrateful. |
|
|
إِنَّآ أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ سَلَـٰسِلَا۟ وَأَغْلَـٰلًا وَسَعِيرًا |
4 We have prepared for the false claimers of guidance1 chains and yokes and an inferno. |
|
|
إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا |
5 The virtuous will drink of a cup whereof the mixture is of camphor, |
|
|
عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ ٱللَّـهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيرًا |
6 A spring whereat drink the servants of God, making it to gush forth abundantly: |
|
|
يُوفُونَ بِٱلنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْمًا كَانَ شَرُّهُۥ مُسْتَطِيرًا |
7 They fulfil the vow, and fear a day the evil of which will be widespread, |
|
|
وَيُطْعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا |
8 And give food for love of Him to the needy, and the fatherless,1 and the prisoner, |
|
|
إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ ٱللَّـهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَآءً وَلَا شُكُورًا |
9 (“We feed you only for the face of God; we desire from you no reward or gratitude; |
|
|
إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًا قَمْطَرِيرًا |
10 “We fear from our Lord a stern and calamitous day.”1) |
|
|
فَوَقَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّـهُ شَرَّ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّىٰهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَسُرُورًا |
11 So God protected them from the evil of that day, and granted them radiance and happiness, |
|
|
وَجَزَىٰهُم بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ جَنَّةً وَحَرِيرًا |
12 And rewarded them for their patience with a Garden and silk; |
|
|
مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ فِيهَا عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ لَا يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْسًا وَلَا زَمْهَرِيرًا |
13 Reclining therein upon couches; they will see therein neither sun nor biting cold; |
|
|
وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلَـٰلُهَا وَذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوفُهَا تَذْلِيلًا |
14 And near above them will be the shade thereof, and the fruits thereof lowered in meekness.1 |
|
|
وَيُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِـَٔانِيَةٍ مِّن فِضَّةٍ وَأَكْوَابٍ كَانَتْ قَوَارِيرَا۠ |
15 Circulated1 among them will be vessels of silver, and cups as of crystal!2 |
|
|
قَوَارِيرَا۟ مِن فِضَّةٍ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيرًا |
16 Crystal of silver, that they determined exactly.1 |
|
|
وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلًا |
17 And they will be given to drink therein a cup whereof the mixture is of ginger, |
|
|
عَيْنًا فِيهَا تُسَمَّىٰ سَلْسَبِيلًا |
18 From a spring therein named Salsabīl.1 |
|
|
وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًا مَّنثُورًا |
19 And there will circulate1 among them youths made eternal; when thou seest them, thou thinkest them scattered pearls. |
|
|
وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيْتَ نَعِيمًا وَمُلْكًا كَبِيرًا |
20 And when thou seest there, thou seest bliss and great dominion: — |
|
|
عَـٰلِيَهُمْ ثِيَابُ سُندُسٍ خُضْرٌ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌ وَحُلُّوٓا۟ أَسَاوِرَ مِن فِضَّةٍ وَسَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَابًا طَهُورًا |
21 Upon them garments of fine green silk and brocade, and they adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord giving them to drink a purifying draught: |
|
|
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَآءً وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُم مَّشْكُورًا |
22 “This is for you a reward, and your effort is appreciated.” |
|
|
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَنزِيلًا |
23 We have sent down upon thee the Qur’an1 in a successive revelation,2 |
|
|
فَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ ءَاثِمًا أَوْ كَفُورًا |
24 So be thou patient for the judgment of thy Lord, and obey thou not among them a sinner or an ingrate; |
|
|
وَٱذْكُرِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا |
25 And remember thou the name of thy Lord morning and evening. |
|
|
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَٱسْجُدْ لَهُۥ وَسَبِّحْهُ لَيْلًا طَوِيلًا |
26 And part of the night, submit1 thou to Him — and glorify2 thou Him the long night.3 |
|
|
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ يُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُونَ وَرَآءَهُمْ يَوْمًا ثَقِيلًا |
27 These love the immediate, and leave behind them a burdensome day. |
|
|
نَّحْنُ خَلَقْنَـٰهُمْ وَشَدَدْنَآ أَسْرَهُمْ وَإِذَا شِئْنَا بَدَّلْنَآ أَمْثَـٰلَهُمْ تَبْدِيلًا |
28 We created them, and strengthened their form1 and, when We will, We will change their likenesses completely.2 |
|
|
إِنَّ هَـٰذِهِۦ تَذْكِرَةٌ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلًا |
29 This is a reminder, so whoso wills may take to his Lord a path. |
|
|
وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا |
30 And you will not save that God wills; God is knowing and wise. |
|
|
يُدْخِلُ مَن يَشَآءُ فِى رَحْمَتِهِۦ وَٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ أَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًۢا |
31 He makes enter whom He wills into His mercy; and for the wrongdoers1 has He prepared a painful punishment. |
