|
بِسْمِ ٱللَّـهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ |
In the name of God, the Almighty,1 the Merciful. |
|
|
حمٓ |
452 1 ḥā mīm1 |
|
|
تَنزِيلُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ مِنَ ٱللَّـهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ |
2 The revelation1 of the Writ2 is from God, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.3 |
|
|
إِنَّ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
3 In the heavens and the earth are proofs1 for the believers;2 |
|
|
وَفِى خَلْقِكُمْ وَمَا يَبُثُّ مِن دَآبَّةٍ ءَايَـٰتٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ |
4 And in your creation and the creatures He scatters in the earth are proofs1 for people who are certain;2 |
|
|
وَٱخْتِلَـٰفِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مِن رِّزْقٍ فَأَحْيَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا وَتَصْرِيفِ ٱلرِّيَـٰحِ ءَايَـٰتٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ |
5 And in1 the alternation of night and day,2 and in3 what God sends down from the sky of provision and gives life thereby to the earth after its death, and in4 the circulation of the winds are proofs5 for people who reason. |

|
تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱللَّـهِ نَتْلُوهَا عَلَيْكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَ ٱللَّـهِ وَءَايَـٰتِهِۦ يُؤْمِنُونَ |
6 Those are the proofs1 of God; We recite them to thee in truth.2 Then in what narration3 after God and His proofs4 will they believe? |
|
|
وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ |
7 Woe to every sinful deceiver, |
|
|
يَسْمَعُ ءَايَـٰتِ ٱللَّـهِ تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ يُصِرُّ مُسْتَكْبِرًا كَأَن لَّمْ يَسْمَعْهَا فَبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ |
8 Who hears the proofs1 of God recited to him then persists in waxing proud as if he heard them not! Then give thou him tidings2 of a painful punishment. |
|
|
وَإِذَا عَلِمَ مِنْ ءَايَـٰتِنَا شَيْـًٔا ٱتَّخَذَهَا هُزُوًا أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ |
9 And when he knows anything of Our proofs,1 he takes them in mockery;2 those have a humiliating punishment. |
|
|
مِّن وَرَآئِهِمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَلَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُم مَّا كَسَبُوا۟ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا مَا ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ أَوْلِيَآءَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ |
10 Behind them1 is Gehenna; and that which they have earned will avail them nothing, nor what they took as allies besides2 God; and they have a great punishment. |
|
|
هَـٰذَا هُدًى وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مِّن رِّجْزٍ أَلِيمٌ |
11 This is guidance. And those who deny the proofs1 of their Lord: they have a punishment of a painful scourge. |
|
|
ٱللَّـهُ ٱلَّذِى سَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلْبَحْرَ لِتَجْرِىَ ٱلْفُلْكُ فِيهِ بِأَمْرِهِۦ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ |
12 God it is who made subject for you the sea, that the ships1 might run therein by His command, and that you might seek of His bounty; and that you might be grateful. |
|
|
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا مِّنْهُ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ |
13 And He made subject for you what is in the heavens and what is in the earth — altogether from Him.1 In that are proofs2 for people who reflect. |
|
|
قُل لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ يَغْفِرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ أَيَّامَ ٱللَّـهِ لِيَجْزِىَ قَوْمًۢا بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ |
14 Say thou to those who heed warning,1 that they forgive those who look not for the days of God, that He might reward people for what they earned. |
|
|
مَنْ عَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًا فَلِنَفْسِهِۦ وَمَنْ أَسَآءَ فَعَلَيْهَا ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ تُرْجَعُونَ |
15 Whoso works righteousness, it is for his soul; and whoso does evil, it is against it; then to your Lord will you be returned. |
|
|
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلْحُكْمَ وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ وَرَزَقْنَـٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ وَفَضَّلْنَـٰهُمْ عَلَى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ |
16 And We gave the children of Israel the Writ,1 and judgment, and prophethood, and provided them with good things, and favoured them above all mankind, |
|
|
وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُم بَيِّنَـٰتٍ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ فَمَا ٱخْتَلَفُوٓا۟ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعِلْمُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقْضِى بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ |
17 And We gave them clear signs of the command;1 and they differed only after knowledge had come to them, through sectarian zealotry2 between them. Thy Lord will decide between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that wherein they differed. |
|
|
ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَـٰكَ عَلَىٰ شَرِيعَةٍ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ فَٱتَّبِعْهَا وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ |
18 Then set We thee upon a way1 of the command; follow thou it,2 and follow thou not the vain desires3 of those who know not; |
|
|
إِنَّهُمْ لَن يُغْنُوا۟ عَنكَ مِنَ ٱللَّـهِ شَيْـًٔا وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَآءُ بَعْضٍ وَٱللَّـهُ وَلِىُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ |
19 They will avail thee nothing against God. And the wrongdoers1 are allies of one another; and God is the ally of those of prudent fear.2 |
|
|
هَـٰذَا بَصَـٰٓئِرُ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ |
20 This is a means of insight1 for mankind, and guidance, and a mercy for people who are certain.2 |
|
|
أَمْ حَسِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱجْتَرَحُوا۟ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن نَّجْعَلَهُمْ كَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ سَوَآءً مَّحْيَاهُمْ وَمَمَاتُهُمْ سَآءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ |
21 If1 those who commit evil deeds2 think that We will make them like those who heed warning3 and do righteous deeds: — the same in their living and their dying4 — evil is what they judge. |
|
|
وَخَلَقَ ٱللَّـهُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلِتُجْزَىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ |
22 And God created the heavens and the earth in truth,1 and that every soul might be rewarded for what it earned; and they will not be wronged. |
|
|
أَفَرَءَيْتَ مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَـٰهَهُۥ هَوَىٰهُ وَأَضَلَّهُ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ وَخَتَمَ عَلَىٰ سَمْعِهِۦ وَقَلْبِهِۦ وَجَعَلَ عَلَىٰ بَصَرِهِۦ غِشَـٰوَةً فَمَن يَهْدِيهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱللَّـهِ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ |
23 Hast thou then considered him who takes as his god his vain desire,1 and God sent him astray according to knowledge2 and sealed his hearing and his heart and set over his sight a covering?3 Then who will guide him after God? Will you then not4 take heed! |
|
|
وَقَالُوا۟ مَا هِىَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا ٱلدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا يُهْلِكُنَآ إِلَّا ٱلدَّهْرُ وَمَا لَهُم بِذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَظُنُّونَ |
24 And they say: “There is only our life of this world: we die, and we live, and there destroys us only time.” But they have no knowledge of that; they are only guessing. |
|
|
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتُنَا بَيِّنَـٰتٍ مَّا كَانَ حُجَّتَهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ ٱئْتُوا۟ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ |
25 And when Our proofs1 are recited to them as clear signs, their argument2 is only that they say: “Bring us our fathers, if you be truthful.”3 |
|
|
قُلِ ٱللَّـهُ يُحْيِيكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يَجْمَعُكُمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ |
26 Say thou: “God gives you life; then He gives you death; then will He gather you to the Day of Resurrection whereof there is no doubt; but most men know not.” |
|
|
وَلِلَّـهِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَخْسَرُ ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ |
27 And to God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And the day the Hour strikes, that day the creators of vanity will lose.1 |
|
|
وَتَرَىٰ كُلَّ أُمَّةٍ جَاثِيَةً كُلُّ أُمَّةٍ تُدْعَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ كِتَـٰبِهَا ٱلْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ |
28 And thou wilt see every community on its knees, every community called to its writ:1 “This day will you be rewarded for what you did! |
|
|
هَـٰذَا كِتَـٰبُنَا يَنطِقُ عَلَيْكُم بِٱلْحَقِّ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَسْتَنسِخُ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ |
29 “This, Our writ,1 speaks against you the truth;2 We have caused to be recorded what you did.” |
|
|
فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ فَيُدْخِلُهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ فِى رَحْمَتِهِۦ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْمُبِينُ |
30 Then as for those who heed warning1 and do righteous deeds: their Lord will make them enter into His mercy; that2 is the clear achievement. |
|
|
وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَفَلَمْ تَكُنْ ءَايَـٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَٱسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ وَكُنتُمْ قَوْمًا مُّجْرِمِينَ |
31 And as for those who ignore warning:1 “Were not Our proofs2 recited to you? But you had waxed proud and were a people of lawbreakers. |
|
|
وَإِذَا قِيلَ إِنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّـهِ حَقٌّ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهَا قُلْتُم مَّا نَدْرِى مَا ٱلسَّاعَةُ إِن نَّظُنُّ إِلَّا ظَنًّا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُسْتَيْقِنِينَ |
32 “And when it was said: ‘The promise of God is true,1 as is2 the Hour about which there is no doubt,’ you said: ‘We know not what the Hour is; we think only assumption, and We are not convinced.’” |
|
|
وَبَدَا لَهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ |
33 And the evil deeds1 they did will appear to them, and there will surround them that whereat they mocked. |
|
|
وَقِيلَ ٱلْيَوْمَ نَنسَىٰكُمْ كَمَا نَسِيتُمْ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَـٰذَا وَمَأْوَىٰكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّـٰصِرِينَ |
34 And it will be said: “This day do We forget you, as you forgot the meeting of this day of yours. And your shelter is the Fire, and you have no helpers. |
|
|
ذَٰلِكُم بِأَنَّكُمُ ٱتَّخَذْتُمْ ءَايَـٰتِ ٱللَّـهِ هُزُوًا وَغَرَّتْكُمُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا فَٱلْيَوْمَ لَا يُخْرَجُونَ مِنْهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ |
35 “That is because you took the proofs1 of God in mockery, and the life of this world deluded you.” So, that day, they will not be brought forth therefrom, nor will they be allowed to make amends. |
|
|
فَلِلَّـهِ ٱلْحَمْدُ رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَرَبِّ ٱلْأَرْضِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ |
36 And to God belongs the praise — “The Lord of the Heavens! And the Lord of the Earth! The Lord of All Creation!” — |
|
|
وَلَهُ ٱلْكِبْرِيَآءُ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ |
37 And to Him belongs the majesty in the heavens and the earth; and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.1 |
