| 
                         بِسْمِ ٱللَّـهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ  | 
                    
                                                 In the name of God, the Almighty,1 the Merciful.  | 
                ||
| 
                         يسٓ  | 
                    
                        362                         1 yā sīn1  | 
                ||
| 
                         وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ  | 
                    
                                                 2 By the wise Qur’an!1  | 
                ||
| 
                         إِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ  | 
                    
                                                 3 (Thou art among the emissaries  | 
                ||
| 
                         عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ  | 
                    
                                                 4 On a straight path!)  | 
                ||
| 
                         تَنزِيلَ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ  | 
                    |||
| 
                         لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًا مَّآ أُنذِرَ ءَابَآؤُهُمْ فَهُمْ غَـٰفِلُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 6 That thou warn a people whose fathers were not warned; and they are heedless.  | 
                ||
| 
                         لَقَدْ حَقَّ ٱلْقَوْلُ عَلَىٰٓ أَكْثَرِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 7 Binding1 has become the word upon most of them, so they do not believe.2  | 
                ||
| 
                         إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا فِىٓ أَعْنَـٰقِهِمْ أَغْلَـٰلًا فَهِىَ إِلَى ٱلْأَذْقَانِ فَهُم مُّقْمَحُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 8 We placed yokes on their necks up to the chins, and they with heads forced high;  | 
                ||
| 
                         وَجَعَلْنَا مِنۢ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ سَدًّا وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ سَدًّا فَأَغْشَيْنَـٰهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 9 And We made a barrier before them and a barrier behind them, and covered them, so they see not.  | 
                ||
| 
                         وَسَوَآءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 10 And it is the same to them whether thou warnedst them, or thou hast not warned them: they do not believe.1  | 
                ||
| 
                         إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلذِّكْرَ وَخَشِىَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍ وَأَجْرٍ كَرِيمٍ  | 
                    
                                                 11 Thou but warnest1 him who follows the remembrance,2 and fears the Almighty3 unseen. So bear thou glad tidings to him of forgiveness and a noble4 reward.  | 
                ||
| 
                         إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْىِ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ وَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُوا۟ وَءَاثَـٰرَهُمْ وَكُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَـٰهُ فِىٓ إِمَامٍ مُّبِينٍ  | 
                    
                                                 12 We give life to the dead, and record what they sent ahead and they left behind;1 and everything have We counted2 in a clear book.3  | 
                ||
| 
                         وَٱضْرِبْ لَهُم مَّثَلًا أَصْحَـٰبَ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ إِذْ جَآءَهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 13 And strike thou for them a similitude: — the people of the city, when the emissaries came to it —  | 
                ||
| 
                         إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْهِمُ ٱثْنَيْنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزْنَا بِثَالِثٍ فَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ إِلَيْكُم مُّرْسَلُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 14 When We sent to them two, then they denied them, so We reinforced with a third, and they said: “We are emissaries to you,”  | 
                ||
| 
                         قَالُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ مِن شَىْءٍ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا تَكْذِبُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 15 Said they: “You are only mortals like us; and the Almighty1 has not sent down anything. You only lie.”  | 
                ||
| 
                         قَالُوا۟ رَبُّنَا يَعْلَمُ إِنَّآ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمُرْسَلُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 16 They said: “Our Lord knows that we are emissaries to you,  | 
                ||
| 
                         وَمَا عَلَيْنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَـٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ  | 
                    
                                                 17 “And upon us is only the clear notification.”  | 
                ||
| 
                         قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا تَطَيَّرْنَا بِكُمْ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهُوا۟ لَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْ وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ  | 
                    
                                                 18 Said they: “We think you an evil omen. If you cease not, we will stone you; and there will touch you from us a painful punishment.”  | 
                ||
| 
                         قَالُوا۟ طَـٰٓئِرُكُم مَّعَكُمْ أَئِن ذُكِّرْتُم بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّسْرِفُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 19 They said: “Your evil omen is with yourselves.1 Is it2 that you were reminded? The truth is,3 you are a people committing excess.”  | 
                ||
| 
                         وَجَآءَ مِنْ أَقْصَا ٱلْمَدِينَةِ رَجُلٌ يَسْعَىٰ قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ  | 
                    
                                                 20 And a man came running from the furthest part of the city.1 He said: “O my people: follow the emissaries!  | 
                ||
| 
                         ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مَن لَّا يَسْـَٔلُكُمْ أَجْرًا وَهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 21 “Follow those who ask of you no reward, and they are guided.  | 
                ||
| 
                         وَمَا لِىَ لَآ أَعْبُدُ ٱلَّذِى فَطَرَنِى وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 22 “And why should I not serve Him who originated me, and to whom you will be returned?  | 
                ||
| 
                         ءَأَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةً إِن يُرِدْنِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ بِضُرٍّۢ لَّا تُغْنِ عَنِّى شَفَـٰعَتُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يُنقِذُونِ  | 
                    
                                                 23 “Shall I take gods besides1 Him? If the Almighty2 intends me harm, their intercession will avail me nothing, nor can they rescue me;3  | 
                ||
| 
                         إِنِّىٓ إِذًا لَّفِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ  | 
                    
                                                 24 “Then should I be in manifest error.  | 
                ||
| 
                         إِنِّىٓ ءَامَنتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَٱسْمَعُونِ  | 
                    
                                                 25 “I believe in1 your Lord; so hear me!”  | 
                ||
| 
                         قِيلَ ٱدْخُلِ ٱلْجَنَّةَ قَالَ يَـٰلَيْتَ قَوْمِى يَعْلَمُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 26 It was said: “Enter thou the Garden.”1 He said: “I would that my people knew  | 
                ||
| 
                         بِمَا غَفَرَ لِى رَبِّى وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ  | 
                    
                                                 27 “Of how my Lord has pardoned me, and placed me among the honoured!”  | 
                ||
| 
                         وَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ مِن جُندٍ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنزِلِينَ  | 
                    
                                                 28 And We sent not down upon his people after him any host1 from the sky; — and nor would We have sent down —  | 
                ||
| 
                         إِن كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَٰحِدَةً فَإِذَا هُمْ خَـٰمِدُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 29 It was only one Blast, and then were they extinguished.  | 
                ||
| 
                         يَـٰحَسْرَةً عَلَى ٱلْعِبَادِ مَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 30 Oh, the sorrow for the servants!1 There came not to them a messenger save they mocked him.  | 
                ||
| 
                         أَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 31 Have they not considered how many generations We destroyed before them — that they to them will not return?  | 
                ||
| 
                         وَإِن كُلٌّ لَّمَّا جَمِيعٌ لَّدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 32 And all of them will be brought present before Us.  | 
                ||
| 
                         وَءَايَةٌ لَّهُمُ ٱلْأَرْضُ ٱلْمَيْتَةُ أَحْيَيْنَـٰهَا وَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهَا حَبًّا فَمِنْهُ يَأْكُلُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 33 And a proof1 for them is the dead earth. We gave it life, and We brought forth from it grain, then they eat thereof;  | 
                ||
| 
                         وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا جَنَّـٰتٍ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَـٰبٍ وَفَجَّرْنَا فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلْعُيُونِ  | 
                    
                                                 34 And We made therein1 gardens of date-palms and grapevines; and We caused to gush forth therein springs,  | 
                ||
| 
                         لِيَأْكُلُوا۟ مِن ثَمَرِهِۦ وَمَا عَمِلَتْهُ أَيْدِيهِمْ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 35 That they might eat of its fruit. And their hands made it not.1 Will they then not2 be grateful!  | 
                ||
| 
                         سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلْأَزْوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنۢبِتُ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَمِنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَمِمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 36 Glory1 be to Him who created all the pairs2 of what the earth produces, and of themselves, and of what they know not!  | 
                ||
| 
                         وَءَايَةٌ لَّهُمُ ٱلَّيْلُ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُم مُّظْلِمُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 37 And a proof1 for them is the night: We peel away2 from it the day, and then are they in darkness.  | 
                ||
| 
                         وَٱلشَّمْسُ تَجْرِى لِمُسْتَقَرٍّۢ لَّهَا ذَٰلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْعَلِيمِ  | 
                    
                                                 38 And the sun: it runs1 to its resting-place;2 that is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.3  | 
                ||
| 
                         وَٱلْقَمَرَ قَدَّرْنَـٰهُ مَنَازِلَ حَتَّىٰ عَادَ كَٱلْعُرْجُونِ ٱلْقَدِيمِ  | 
                    
                                                 39 And the moon: We have determined for it phases, until it returns like the old date-leaf stalk.1  | 
                ||
| 
                         لَا ٱلشَّمْسُ يَنۢبَغِى لَهَآ أَن تُدْرِكَ ٱلْقَمَرَ وَلَا ٱلَّيْلُ سَابِقُ ٱلنَّهَارِ وَكُلٌّ فِى فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 40 It behoves not the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day; and each is in a circuit swimming.  | 
                ||
| 
                         وَءَايَةٌ لَّهُمْ أَنَّا حَمَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ  | 
                    
                                                 41 And a proof1 for them is that We bore2 their progeny3 in the laden ship.  | 
                ||
| 
                         وَخَلَقْنَا لَهُم مِّن مِّثْلِهِۦ مَا يَرْكَبُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 42 And We created for them the like thereof which they ride.  | 
                ||
| 
                         وَإِن نَّشَأْ نُغْرِقْهُمْ فَلَا صَرِيخَ لَهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنقَذُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 43 And if We will, We drown them; then none have they to cry to, nor are they rescued,  | 
                ||
| 
                         إِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا وَمَتَـٰعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٍ  | 
                    
                                                 44 Save as a mercy from Us, and as enjoyment for a time.  | 
                ||
| 
                         وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱتَّقُوا۟ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَمَا خَلْفَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 45 But when1 it is said to them: “Be in prudent fear2 of what is before you,3 and what is behind you, that you might obtain mercy[...].”4  | 
                ||
| 
                         وَمَا تَأْتِيهِم مِّنْ ءَايَةٍ مِّنْ ءَايَـٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ  | 
                    
                                                 46 And there comes not to them a proof1 among the proofs2 of their Lord save they turn away therefrom.  | 
                ||
| 
                         وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ أَنفِقُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَنُطْعِمُ مَن لَّوْ يَشَآءُ ٱللَّـهُ أَطْعَمَهُۥٓ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا فِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ  | 
                    
                                                 47 And when it is said to them: “Spend of what God has provided you,” those who ignore warning1 say to those who heed warning:2 “Shall we feed one whom, had God willed, He would have fed? You are only in manifest error.”  | 
                ||
| 
                         وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَـٰذَا ٱلْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ  | 
                    
                                                 48 And they say: “When is this promise, if you be truthful?”1  | 
                ||
| 
                         مَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَٰحِدَةً تَأْخُذُهُمْ وَهُمْ يَخِصِّمُونَ  | 
                    
                                                 49 They look only for one Blast which will seize them while they are disputing —  | 
                ||
