بِّسْمِ ٱللَّـهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of God, the Almighty,1 the Merciful.

إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةِ ٱلْقَدْرِ

972

1 We sent it1 down on the Night of Determination.2

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ

2 And what will convey to thee what the Night of Determination is?1

لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ

3 The Night of Determination is better than a thousand months1 —

تَنَزَّلُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٍ

4 (The angels and the Spirit descend therein by the leave of their Lord1) — of every sort2 of affair.3

سَلَـٰمٌ هِىَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ ٱلْفَجْرِ

5 “Peace!”1 It2 is until the emergence of dawn.
