| لَعَلِّىٓ أَعْمَلُ صَـٰلِحًا فِيمَا تَرَكْتُ كَلَّآ إِنَّهَا كَلِمَةٌ هُوَ قَآئِلُهَا وَمِن وَرَآئِهِم بَرْزَخٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ | 100 “That I might work righteousness in what I left behind.” No, indeed!1 It is but a word that he says;2 and behind them is a barrier until the day they are raised.3 | ||
| فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَلَآ أَنسَابَ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَلَا يَتَسَآءَلُونَ | 101 And when the Trumpet is blown, then no ties of kinship are between them that day nor will they ask one of another. | ||
| فَمَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ | 102 Then whose balances are heavy, it is they who are the successful.1 | ||
| وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فِى جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدُونَ | 103 And whose balances are light, those are they who have lost their souls, in Gehenna abiding eternally, | ||
| تَلْفَحُ وُجُوهَهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَهُمْ فِيهَا كَـٰلِحُونَ | 104 The Fire scorching their faces, and they scowling therein: | ||
| أَلَمْ تَكُنْ ءَايَـٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ | 105 “Were not My proofs1 recited to you, and you denied them?” | ||
| قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا غَلَبَتْ عَلَيْنَا شِقْوَتُنَا وَكُنَّا قَوْمًا ضَآلِّينَ | 106 They will say: “Our Lord: our wretchedness overcame us, and we were a people astray. | ||
| رَبَّنَآ أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْهَا فَإِنْ عُدْنَا فَإِنَّا ظَـٰلِمُونَ | 107 “Our Lord: turn Thou us out therefrom; if we return,1 then are we wrongdoers.”2 | ||
| قَالَ ٱخْسَـُٔوا۟ فِيهَا وَلَا تُكَلِّمُونِ | 108 He will say: “Be despised therein; and speak not to Me. | ||
| إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْ عِبَادِى يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱرْحَمْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ | 109 “A faction among My servants said: ‘Our Lord: we believe, then forgive Thou us, and have mercy on us; and Thou art the best of those who have mercy.’ | ||
| فَٱتَّخَذْتُمُوهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا حَتَّىٰٓ أَنسَوْكُمْ ذِكْرِى وَكُنتُم مِّنْهُمْ تَضْحَكُونَ | 110 “Then you took them1 in derision until they2 made you forget My remembrance,3 and you laughed at them. | ||
| إِنِّى جَزَيْتُهُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ بِمَا صَبَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ هُمُ ٱلْفَآئِزُونَ | 111 “I have rewarded them this day for their patience; they are the attainers of success.” | ||
| قَـٰلَ كَمْ لَبِثْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ عَدَدَ سِنِينَ | 112 He will say: “How long tarried you in the earth, by number of years?” | ||
| قَالُوا۟ لَبِثْنَا يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ فَسْـَٔلِ ٱلْعَآدِّينَ | 113 They will say: “We tarried a day, or part of a day; ask Thou those who keep count.”1 | ||
| قَـٰلَ إِن لَّبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا لَّوْ أَنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ | 114 He will say: “You tarried only a little; had you but known[...].1 | ||
| أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَـٰكُمْ عَبَثًا وَأَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا تُرْجَعُونَ | 115 “Thought you that We only created you for amusement, and that to Us you would not be returned?” | ||
| فَتَعَـٰلَى ٱللَّـهُ ٱلْمَلِكُ ٱلْحَقُّ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْكَرِيمِ | 116 Then exalted be God, the True1 King! There is no god save He:2 the Lord of the Noble Throne. | ||
| وَمَن يَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّـهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ لَا بُرْهَـٰنَ لَهُۥ بِهِۦ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦٓ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ | 117 And whoso calls, with God, to another god, whereof he has no evidence, then is his reckoning but with his Lord; the false claimers of guidance1 will not be successful. | ||
| وَقُل رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ وَٱرْحَمْ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ | 118 And say thou: “My Lord: forgive Thou, and have Thou mercy; and Thou art the best of those who have mercy.” | ||
