|
لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَـٰتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ |
50 “Will be gathered together at the appointed time of a known day.”1 |
|
|
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبُونَ |
51 Then you, O you, the straying1 and the denying, |
|
|
لَـَٔاكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٍ مِّن زَقُّومٍ |
52 You will eat of a tree of Zaqqūm,1 |
|
|
فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ |
53 And fill your bellies therewith, |
|
|
فَشَـٰرِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْحَمِيمِ |
54 And drink on top of that of the scalding water, |
|
|
فَشَـٰرِبُونَ شُرْبَ ٱلْهِيمِ |
55 And drink as the thirst-wracked camels drink. |
|
|
هَـٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ |
56 This is their welcome on the Day of Judgment.1 |
|
|
نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَـٰكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ |
57 We created you. Oh, that you but1 gave credence! |
|
|
أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَ |
58 Have you considered what you emit?1 |
|
|
ءَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْخَـٰلِقُونَ |
59 Did you create it or are We the creators? |
|
|
نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ |
60 We have decreed death among you; and We will not be outrun, |
|
|
عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَـٰلَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِى مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ |
61 That We will change your likenesses, and produce you in1 what you know not. |
|
|
وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ |
62 And you have known the former1 creation. Oh, that you but2 took heed! |
|
|
أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ |
63 Have you considered that which you sow?1 |
|
|
ءَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلزَّٰرِعُونَ |
64 Is it you who cause it to grow or are We the growers? |
|
|
لَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ حُطَـٰمًا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ |
65 If We willed, We could make it debris, and you would remain bitterly jesting:1 |
|
|
إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ |
66 “We are debt-laden! |
|
|
بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ |
67 “Nay,1 we have been deprived!” |
|
|
أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلْمَآءَ ٱلَّذِى تَشْرَبُونَ |
68 Have you considered the water which you drink? |
|
|
ءَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنزِلُونَ |
69 Is it you who sent it down from the rain clouds or are We the senders? |
|
|
لَوْ نَشَآءُ جَعَلْنَـٰهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ |
70 If We willed, We could make it bitter. Oh, that you were but1 grateful! |
|
|
أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِى تُورُونَ |
71 Have you considered the fire which you light? |
|
|
ءَأَنتُمْ أَنشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنشِـُٔونَ |
72 Did you produce the tree thereof or were We the producers? |
|
|
نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَـٰهَا تَذْكِرَةً وَمَتَـٰعًا لِّلْمُقْوِينَ |
73 We made it1 a reminder, and a benefit for the desert-travellers.2 |
|
|
فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ |
74 So give thou glory1 with the name of thy Lord, the Great!2 |
|
|
فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ |
||
|
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمٌ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ |
76 — And it is a tremendous oath, if you but knew — |
|
|
إِنَّهُۥ لَقُرْءَانٌ كَرِيمٌ |
77 It is a noble recitation1 |
|
|
فِى كِتَـٰبٍ مَّكْنُونٍ |
78 In a hidden Writ,1 |
|
|
لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْمُطَهَّرُونَ |
79 — None will touch it save those purified1 — |
|
|
تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ |
80 A revelation1 from the Lord of All Creation! |
|
|
أَفَبِهَـٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ |
81 Is it then this narration1 you disdain |
|
|
وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ |
82 And make denial thereof your livelihood?1 |
|
|
فَلَوْلَآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلْحُلْقُومَ |
||
|
وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٍ تَنظُرُونَ |
84 But you at that time will look on. |
|
|
وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنكُمْ وَلَـٰكِن لَّا تُبْصِرُونَ |
85 And We were nearer to it1 than you, but you saw not. |
|
|
فَلَوْلَآ إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ |
86 Oh, that — if you are to be without recompense1 — |
|
|
تَرْجِعُونَهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ |
||
|
فَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ |
||
|
فَرَوْحٌ وَرَيْحَانٌ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٍ |
||
|
وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ |
90 And if he be of the companions of the right: |
|
|
فَسَلَـٰمٌ لَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ |
91 “Peace for thee, among the companions of the right!” |
|
|
وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ |
92 And if he be of the denying and the straying:1 |
|
|
فَنُزُلٌ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ |
93 A welcome of scalding water, |
|
|
وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ |
94 And burning in Hell. |
|
|
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلْيَقِينِ |
95 This is the truth1 of certainty. |
|
|
فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ |
96 So give thou glory1 with the name of thy Lord, the Great! |
