|
بِسْمِ ٱللَّـهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ |
In the name of God, the Almighty,1 the Merciful. |
|
|
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتْ |
822 1 When the sky splits open, |
|
|
وَإِذَا ٱلْكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتْ |
2 And when the stars are scattered,1 |
|
|
وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ |
3 And when the seas are made to gush forth, |
|
|
وَإِذَا ٱلْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ |
4 And when the graves are overturned, |
|
|
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ |
5 A soul will know what it has sent ahead and held back.1 |
|
|
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلْكَرِيمِ |
6 O man: what deluded thee concerning thy Lord, the Noble,1 |
|
|
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ |
7 Who created thee and fashioned thee and proportioned thee in balance,1 |
|
|
فِىٓ أَىِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ |
8 In what form He willed assembling thee? |
|
|
كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ |
||
|
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَـٰفِظِينَ |
10 And there are over you custodians, |
|
|
كِرَامًا كَـٰتِبِينَ |
11 Noble and writing. |
|
|
يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ |
12 They know what you do. |
|
|
إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ |
13 The virtuous will be in bliss, |
|
|
وَإِنَّ ٱلْفُجَّارَ لَفِى جَحِيمٍ |
14 And the licentious will be in Hell. |
|
|
يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ |
15 They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment,1 |
|
|
وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ |
16 And they will not therefrom be absent. |
|
|
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ |
17 And what will convey to thee what the Day of Judgment1 is? |
|
|
ثُمَّ مَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ |
18 Then what will convey to thee what the Day of Judgment1 is!2 — |
|
|
يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَيْـًٔا وَٱلْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّـهِ |
19 The day no soul will possess power for another1 soul in anything, and the command, that day, belongs to God. |
