2:118 And those who know not say: “Oh, that God would but¹ speak to us, or a proof² but come to us!” Thus said those before them likewise;³ their hearts are similar. We have made plain⁴ the proofs⁵ for people⁶ who are certain.⁷

2:174 Those who conceal what God has sent down of the Writ¹ and sell it at a cheap price,² those eat into their bellies only fire. And God will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He increase them in purity;³ and they have a painful punishment.

2:253 Those messengers:¹ We gave preference to some of them over others; among them were those to whom God spoke, and He raised some of them in degree.² And We gave Jesus,³ son of Mary⁴ the clear signs, and We strengthened him with the Spirit of Holiness. And had God willed, there would not have fought one another those after them after the clear signs had come to them; but they differed, and some of them believed, and some of them denied; and had God willed, they would not have fought one another; but God does what He wills.

3:41 Said he: “My Lord: make Thou for me a proof.”¹ He said: “Thy proof² is that thou shalt not speak to men three days save by gestures. And remember thou thy Lord much, and give thou glory³ in the evening and the morning.”

3:46 “He will speak to men in the cradle, and in maturity, and is among the righteous.”

3:77 Those who sell the covenant of God¹ and their oaths at a cheap price: those have no portion in the Hereafter; and God will not speak to them or look at them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He increase them in purity.² And they have a painful punishment.

4:164 And messengers We have related to thee before, and messengers We have not related to thee, — and God spoke to Moses with speech —

5:110 (When¹ God will say: “O Jesus,² son of Mary:³ remember thou My favour to thee and to thy mother: when I strengthened thee with the Spirit of Holiness, thou speaking to men in the cradle and in maturity; and when I taught thee the Writ⁴ and wisdom,⁵ and the Torah and the Gospel;⁶ and when thou didst create of clay the likeness of a bird by My leave, and blewest into it and it became a bird by My leave, and thou didst heal the blind and the leper by My leave; and when thou broughtest forth the dead by My leave; and when I restrained the children of Israel from thee when thou camest to them with clear signs”; then those who ignored warning⁷ among them said: “This is only obvious sorcery”;⁸

6:111 And were We to send down to them the angels, and the dead to speak to them, and We to gather everything to them before their very eyes, they would not believe save if God wills; but most of them are ignorant.¹

7:143 And when Moses came at Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said: “My Lord: show Thou me that I might look upon Thee.” Said He: “Thou wilt not see Me; but look thou upon the mountain: if it should remain in its place, then thou wilt see Me.” And when his Lord was revealed¹ upon the mountain, He made it level;² and Moses fell down thunderstruck.³ Then when he recovered, he said: “Glory⁴ be to Thee! I turn to Thee repentant; and I am the first of the believers!”⁵

7:148 And the people of Moses, while he was away,¹ took up a calf out of their ornaments — a body that lowed. Did they not consider that it spoke not to them, neither guided them to a path? They took it up, and were wrongdoers.²

12:54 And the King said: “Bring him to me! I will attach him to my person.”¹ Then when he had spoken with him, he said: “Thou art this day with us established² and trusted.”

13:31 And were there a recitation¹ whereby the mountains were set in motion, or the earth rent asunder, or the dead caused to speak[...].² The truth is,³ to God belongs the command altogether. Have not those who heed warning⁴ despaired⁵ that, had God willed, He would have guided mankind all together? And those who ignore warning:⁶ disaster will cease not to strike them⁷ for what they have wrought, or to descend⁸ near their abodes, until the promise of God comes; God will not break the appointment.

19:10 He said: “My Lord: make Thou for me a proof.”¹ Said He: “Thy proof² is that thou shalt not speak to men three nights, being sound.”³

19:26 “So eat thou, and drink thou, and let thine eye be comforted; and if thou see any mortal, say thou: ‘I have vowed to the Almighty¹ a fast,² so I will not speak this day to any man.’”³

19:29 Then she pointed to him. They said: “How can we speak to one who is in the cradle a child?”

23:108 He will say: “Be despised therein; and speak not to Me.

27:82 And when the word befalls them, We will bring forth for them a creature from the earth¹ telling them that men were of Our proofs² not certain.³

36:65 This day will We seal their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will bear witness as to what they earned.

42:51 And it is not for a mortal that God should speak to him save by revelation¹ or from behind a partition, or that He send a messenger and that he reveal,² by His leave, what He wills; He is exalted and wise.
