2:34 And when We said to the angels: “Submit¹ to Adam,” then they submitted.² Not so³ Iblīs;⁴ he refused, and had waxed proud, and was of the false claimers of guidance.⁵

3:43 “O Mary:¹ be thou humbly obedient to thy Lord, and submit thou,² and be thou lowly³ with the lowly.”³

3:113 They are not the same; among the doctors of the Law¹ is an upright community: they recite the proofs² of God in watches of the night, and they submit;³

4:102 And when¹ thou art among them,² uphold thou the duty³ for them;⁴ then let there stand a number of them⁵ with thee, and let them take their arms; then when they⁶ have submitted,⁷ let them⁸ be behind you⁹ and let another number come that has not performed the duty,¹⁰ and let them perform the duty¹¹ with thee; and let them¹² take their precautions and their arms. (Those who ignore warning¹³ wish that you would neglect your arms and your equipment, so they might assault you in a single assault; but you do no wrong¹⁴ if there is a hindrance¹⁵ to you from rain or you are sick, that you lay aside your arms; but take your precautions: God has prepared for the false claimers of guidance¹⁶ a humiliating punishment.)

7:11 And We created you; then We formed you; then said We to the angels: “Submit¹ to Adam,” and they submitted.² Not so³ Iblīs; he was not of those who submit.⁴

7:12 He said: “What prevented thee from submitting¹ when I commanded thee?” Said he: “I am better than he; Thou createdst me of fire, and Thou createdst him of clay.”

7:206 Those who are in the presence of thy Lord are not too proud for His service; and they glorify¹ Him, and they submit² to Him.

13:15 And to God submits¹ whoso is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, as do² their shadows in the mornings and the evenings.

15:30 Then the angels submitted,¹ all of them together.

15:33 Said he: “I am not one to submit¹ to a mortal whom Thou hast created from sounding clay, from dark slime transmuted.”

16:49 And to God submits¹ what is in the heavens and what is in the earth, among creatures and the angels. And they wax not proud;

18:50 And when We said to the angels: “Submit¹ to Adam,” then they submitted.² Not so³ Iblīs; he was of the domini⁴ and was perfidious⁵ towards the command of his Lord; take you him and his progeny as allies instead of⁶ Me? And they are an enemy to you; evil an exchange for the wrongdoers!⁷

20:116 And when We said to the angels: “Submit¹ to Adam,” then they submitted.² Not so² Iblīs; he refused.

22:18 Dost thou not see¹ that to God submits² whoso is in the heavens, and whoso is in the earth, and the sun, and the moon, and the stars, and the mountains, and the trees, and the creatures, and many among mankind? And upon many has the punishment become binding.³ And whom God humiliates, he has none to honour him; God does what He wills.

22:77 O you who heed warning:¹ be lowly² and submit,³ and serve your Lord, and do good that you might be successful;

25:60 And when it is said to them: “Submit¹ to the Almighty,”² they say: “And what is the Almighty?³ Are we to submit⁴ to what thou commandest us?” And it increases them in aversion.

27:25 That they submit¹ not to God who brings forth the hidden in the heavens and the earth, and knows what you hide and what you make known;
