يَوْمَئِذٍ يَوَدُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَعَصَوُا۟ ٱلرَّسُولَ لَوْ تُسَوَّىٰ بِهِمُ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَلَا يَكْتُمُونَ ٱللَّـهَ حَدِيثًا |
4:42 That day, those who ignore warning1 and oppose the Messenger will wish that the earth might be levelled with them; and they will not conceal from God any statement.2 |
|
أَيْنَمَا تَكُونُوا۟ يُدْرِككُّمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ وَلَوْ كُنتُمْ فِى بُرُوجٍ مُّشَيَّدَةٍ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ حَسَنَةٌ يَقُولُوا۟ هَـٰذِهِۦ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّـهِ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَقُولُوا۟ هَـٰذِهِۦ مِنْ عِندِكَ قُلْ كُلٌّ مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّـهِ فَمَالِ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ٱلْقَوْمِ لَا يَكَادُونَ يَفْقَهُونَ حَدِيثًا |
4:78 Wherever you be, death will overtake you, though you be in castles built high.1 And2 if good befalls them, they say: “This is from God”; and if evil3 befalls them, they say: “This is from thee.” Say thou: “All is from God.” Then what ails these people that they scarcely understand a statement? |

ٱللَّـهُ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ لَيَجْمَعَنَّكُمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَمَنْ أَصْدَقُ مِنَ ٱللَّـهِ حَدِيثًا |
4:87 God, there is no god save He.1 He will gather you all to the Day of Resurrection whereof there is no doubt; and who is more truthful than God in statement?2 |
|
وَقَدْ نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ أَنْ إِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ ءَايَـٰتِ ٱللَّـهِ يُكْفَرُ بِهَا وَيُسْتَهْزَأُ بِهَا فَلَا تَقْعُدُوا۟ مَعَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يَخُوضُوا۟ فِى حَدِيثٍ غَيْرِهِۦٓ إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا مِّثْلُهُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ جَامِعُ ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ وَٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ فِى جَهَنَّمَ جَمِيعًا |
4:140 (And He has sent down upon you1 in the Writ2 that when you hear the proofs3 of God denied and mocked: “Sit not with them until they discourse vainly4 concerning a subject5 other than that; then would you be like them.”) God will gather the waverers6 and the false claimers of guidance7 into Gehenna all together: |

وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَخُوضُونَ فِىٓ ءَايَـٰتِنَا فَأَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يَخُوضُوا۟ فِى حَدِيثٍ غَيْرِهِۦ وَإِمَّا يُنسِيَنَّكَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ فَلَا تَقْعُدْ بَعْدَ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ مَعَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ |
6:68 And when thou seest those who discourse vainly1 concerning Our proofs,2 turn thou away from them until they discourse vainly concerning a subject3 other than it; and if the satan4 cause thee to forget, then sit thou not after the reminder with the wrongdoing5 people. |
|
أَوَلَمْ يَنظُرُوا۟ فِى مَلَكُوتِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّـهُ مِن شَىْءٍ وَأَنْ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ قَدِ ٱقْتَرَبَ أَجَلُهُمْ فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَهُۥ يُؤْمِنُونَ |
7:185 Have they not considered the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and what things God has created, and that it may be that their term has drawn nigh? And in what narration1 after this will they believe? |
|
وَكَذَٰلِكَ يَجْتَبِيكَ رَبُّكَ وَيُعَلِّمُكَ مِن تَأْوِيلِ ٱلْأَحَادِيثِ وَيُتِمُّ نِعْمَتَهُۥ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَىٰٓ ءَالِ يَعْقُوبَ كَمَآ أَتَمَّهَا عَلَىٰٓ أَبَوَيْكَ مِن قَبْلُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْحَـٰقَ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ |
12:6 “And thus will thy Lord choose thee, and teach thee the interpretation of events, and complete His favour upon thee and upon the house of Jacob as He completed it upon thy fathers before, Abraham and Isaac; thy Lord is knowing and wise.” |
|
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِى ٱشْتَرَىٰهُ مِن مِّصْرَ لِٱمْرَأَتِهِۦٓ أَكْرِمِى مَثْوَىٰهُ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَنفَعَنَآ أَوْ نَتَّخِذَهُۥ وَلَدًا وَكَذَٰلِكَ مَكَّنَّا لِيُوسُفَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلِنُعَلِّمَهُۥ مِن تَأْوِيلِ ٱلْأَحَادِيثِ وَٱللَّـهُ غَالِبٌ عَلَىٰٓ أَمْرِهِۦ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ |
12:21 And said he who bought him from Egypt,1 to his wife: “Be thou honourable in his dwelling;2 it may be that he will benefit us, or we will take him as a son.” And thus did We establish Joseph in the land, and that We might teach him the interpretation of narratives; and God prevails over His affair, but most men3 understand not. |
|
رَبِّ قَدْ ءَاتَيْتَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُلْكِ وَعَلَّمْتَنِى مِن تَأْوِيلِ ٱلْأَحَادِيثِ فَاطِرَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ أَنتَ وَلِىِّۦ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ تَوَفَّنِى مُسْلِمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ |
12:101 “My Lord: Thou hast given me some dominion, and hast taught me some of the interpretation of events; Creator of the Heavens and the Earth: Thou art my ally in the World and the Hereafter. Take Thou me as one submitting,1 and join Thou me with the righteous.” |
|
لَقَدْ كَانَ فِى قَصَصِهِمْ عِبْرَةٌ لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ مَا كَانَ حَدِيثًا يُفْتَرَىٰ وَلَـٰكِن تَصْدِيقَ ٱلَّذِى بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَتَفْصِيلَ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ |
12:111 There is in their story a lesson for men of understanding; it is not an invented narrative1 but a confirmation of what is before it,2 and an exposition of every thing,3 and guidance, and a mercy for people who believe. |
|
فَلَعَلَّكَ بَـٰخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَـٰرِهِمْ إِن لَّمْ يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِهَـٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ أَسَفًا |
18:6 Then mightest thou destroy thy soul — in their footsteps1 — from grief,2 if they believe not in3 this narrative.4 |
|
وَهَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ |
||
ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا تَتْرَا كُلَّ مَا جَآءَ أُمَّةً رَّسُولُهَا كَذَّبُوهُ فَأَتْبَعْنَا بَعْضَهُم بَعْضًا وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ فَبُعْدًا لِّقَوْمٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ |
23:44 Then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time its messenger came to a community, they denied him; and We caused some of them to follow1 others, and made them legends:2 — “Then away with a people who do not believe!”3 |
|
وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَشْتَرِى لَهْوَ ٱلْحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَيَتَّخِذَهَا هُزُوًا أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ |
31:6 And among men is he who purchases the diversion of narration1 to lead astray from the path of God without knowledge, and takes it in mockery: those have a humiliating punishment. |
|
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَدْخُلُوا۟ بُيُوتَ ٱلنَّبِىِّ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْذَنَ لَكُمْ إِلَىٰ طَعَامٍ غَيْرَ نَـٰظِرِينَ إِنَىٰهُ وَلَـٰكِنْ إِذَا دُعِيتُمْ فَٱدْخُلُوا۟ فَإِذَا طَعِمْتُمْ فَٱنتَشِرُوا۟ وَلَا مُسْتَـْٔنِسِينَ لِحَدِيثٍ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكُمْ كَانَ يُؤْذِى ٱلنَّبِىَّ فَيَسْتَحْىِۦ مِنكُمْ وَٱللَّـهُ لَا يَسْتَحْىِۦ مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ وَإِذَا سَأَلْتُمُوهُنَّ مَتَـٰعًا فَسْـَٔلُوهُنَّ مِن وَرَآءِ حِجَابٍ ذَٰلِكُمْ أَطْهَرُ لِقُلُوبِكُمْ وَقُلُوبِهِنَّ وَمَا كَانَ لَكُمْ أَن تُؤْذُوا۟ رَسُولَ ٱللَّـهِ وَلَآ أَن تَنكِحُوٓا۟ أَزْوَٰجَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦٓ أَبَدًا إِنَّ ذَٰلِكُمْ كَانَ عِندَ ٱللَّـهِ عَظِيمًا |
33:53 O you who heed warning:1 enter not the houses of the Prophet, save that leave be given to you for a meal, without watching for its hour. But when you are called, then enter; and when you have eaten, then disperse. And seek not to remain for conversation;2 that hinders3 the Prophet, and he is shy of you;4 but God is not shy of the truth.5 And when you ask of his wives6 an item: ask it of them from behind a partition;7 that is purer for your hearts and their hearts. And it is not for you to hinder8 the messenger of God, or to marry his wives after him ever; that were, in the sight of God, monstrous. |

فَقَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا بَـٰعِدْ بَيْنَ أَسْفَارِنَا وَظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ وَمَزَّقْنَـٰهُمْ كُلَّ مُمَزَّقٍ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ |
34:19 But they said: “Long has our Lord made the distance between our journeys”;1 and they wronged their souls, and We made them tales told,2 and scattered them utterly.3 In that are proofs4 for everyone patient and grateful. |

ٱللَّـهُ نَزَّلَ أَحْسَنَ ٱلْحَدِيثِ كِتَـٰبًا مُّتَشَـٰبِهًا مَّثَانِىَ تَقْشَعِرُّ مِنْهُ جُلُودُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ ثُمَّ تَلِينُ جُلُودُهُمْ وَقُلُوبُهُمْ إِلَىٰ ذِكْرِ ٱللَّـهِ ذَٰلِكَ هُدَى ٱللَّـهِ يَهْدِى بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّـهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِنْ هَادٍ |
39:23 God has sent down the best narration:1 a Writ2 of paired comparison3 whereat shiver the skins of those who fear their Lord; then their skins and their hearts soften to the remembrance4 of God — that is the guidance of God wherewith He guides whom He wills; and whom God sends astray, for him there is no guide. |
|
تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱللَّـهِ نَتْلُوهَا عَلَيْكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَ ٱللَّـهِ وَءَايَـٰتِهِۦ يُؤْمِنُونَ |
45:6 Those are the proofs1 of God; We recite them to thee in truth.2 Then in what narration3 after God and His proofs4 will they believe? |
|
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ |
51:24 Has there come to thee the story1 of the honoured guests of Abraham? |
|
فَلْيَأْتُوا۟ بِحَدِيثٍ مِّثْلِهِۦٓ إِن كَانُوا۟ صَـٰدِقِينَ |
52:34 Then let them produce a narrative1 the like thereof, if they be truthful.2 |
|
أَفَمِنْ هَـٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ تَعْجَبُونَ |
||
أَفَبِهَـٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ |
||
وَإِذْ أَسَرَّ ٱلنَّبِىُّ إِلَىٰ بَعْضِ أَزْوَٰجِهِۦ حَدِيثًا فَلَمَّا نَبَّأَتْ بِهِۦ وَأَظْهَرَهُ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَيْهِ عَرَّفَ بَعْضَهُۥ وَأَعْرَضَ عَنۢ بَعْضٍ فَلَمَّا نَبَّأَهَا بِهِۦ قَالَتْ مَنْ أَنۢبَأَكَ هَـٰذَا قَالَ نَبَّأَنِىَ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٱلْخَبِيرُ |
66:3 And when the Prophet confided a statement1 to one of his wives; and when she told of it, and God made it known to him, he made known part of it, and turned aside from part. And when he informed her about it, she said: “Who told thee this?” He said: “There told me the knowing, the aware.”2 |
|
فَذَرْنِى وَمَن يُكَذِّبُ بِهَـٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم مِّنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ |
68:44 So leave thou Me with those who deny this narrative.1 We will lead them by degrees, whence2 they know not; |
|
فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَهُۥ يُؤْمِنُونَ |
||
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ |
||
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْجُنُودِ |
||
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْغَـٰشِيَةِ |
88:1 Has there come to thee the narrative1 of the Enveloping? |
