1:4 Master of the Day of Judgment.¹

2:132 The same¹ did Abraham enjoin upon his sons, as did² Jacob: “O my sons: God has chosen the doctrine³ for you; so die not save when you are submitting.”⁴

2:193 And fight them until there is no more means of denial¹ and the doctrine² belongs to God; but if they desist, then is there no enmity save against the wrongdoers.³

2:217 They ask thee about the inviolable month,¹ fighting therein;² say thou: “Fighting therein is grave, but turning away from³ the path of God, and denial of Him⁴ and the inviolable place of worship,⁵ and the expulsion of its people therefrom is graver in the sight of God; and means of denial⁶ is worse than killing.”⁷ And they will not cease to fight you until they turn you from your doctrine,⁸ if they are able; and whoso among you turns from his doctrine,⁹ and dies a false claimer of guidance:¹⁰ those, their works are vain in the World and in the Hereafter; and those are the companions of the Fire; therein they abide eternally.

2:256 There is no compulsion in doctrine;¹ sound judgment has become clear from error. So whoso denies idols² and believes in³ God, he has grasped the most firm handhold which has no break; and God is hearing and knowing.

3:19 The doctrine¹ with God is submission.² And those given³ the Writ⁴ differed only after knowledge had come to them, through sectarian zealotry⁵ between them; and whoso denies the proofs⁶ of God — then is God swift in reckoning.

3:24 For it is that¹ they say: “The Fire will not touch us save days numbered,” and what they invented² has deluded them in their doctrine!³

3:73 “And believe not save him who follows your doctrine.”¹ Say thou: “Guidance is the guidance of God, that one be given the like of what you have been given.”² Or would they argue with you before your Lord? Say thou: “Bounty is in the hand of God, He gives it to whom He wills.” And God is encompassing and knowing,

3:83 Is it then other than the doctrine¹ of God they seek, when to Him has submitted whoso is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and to Him they will be returned?

3:85 And whoso seeks a doctrine¹ other than submission,² it will not be accepted from him; and he in the Hereafter will be among the losers.

4:46 Some of those who hold to Judaism¹ twist words from their places,² — and they say: “We hear and we oppose”; and: “Hear thou what is not heard”;³ and: “Attend thou to us!”⁴ — twisting their tongues,⁵ and slandering the doctrine.⁶ And had they said: “We hear and we obey”; and: “Hear thou”; and: “Look thou upon us,” it would have been better for them, and more upright; but God has cursed them for their denial;⁷ and they do not believe⁸ save a few.

4:125 And who is better in doctrine¹ than he who submits his face to God, and is a doer of good, and follows the creed of Abraham, inclining to truth?² And God took Abraham as a friend.

4:146 Save those who repent, and make right, and hold fast to God, and are sincere in their doctrine¹ to God; those are with the believers,² and God will give the believers³ a great reward.

4:171 O doctors of the Law:¹ exceed not bounds in your doctrine,² nor ascribe to God save the truth.³ The Messiah,⁴ Jesus,⁵ son of Mary⁶ was only the messenger of God, and His word which He conveyed to Mary,⁷ and a spirit from Him. So believe in⁸ God and His messengers, and say not: “Three.” Desist; it is best for you. God is but One God. Glory⁹ be to Him that He should have a son! To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is in the earth; and God is sufficient as disposer of affairs.¹⁰

5:3 Forbidden to you is carrion, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that dedicated to other than God, and the strangled, and the beaten, and the fallen, and the gored, and that eaten by the beast of prey save what you slaughter, and that sacrificed upon the altar, and that you seek apportionment by divining arrows¹ — that is perfidy² — (this day have those who ignore warning³ despaired⁴ of your doctrine,⁵ so fear them not, but fear Me; this day have I perfected for you your doctrine⁶ and completed My favour upon you, and approved for you submission⁷ as doctrine⁸) but whoso is compelled by hunger, without inclination to sin⁹ — God is forgiving and merciful.

5:54 O you who heed warning:¹ whoso among you renounces his doctrine:² God will bring a people whom He will love, and who will love Him: humble towards the believers;³ stern towards the false claimers of guidance;⁴ striving in the cause of God, and fearing not the reproach of a critic. That is the bounty of God He gives to whom He wills; and God is encompassing and knowing.

5:57 O you who heed warning:¹ take not those who take your doctrine in mockery and fun among those given² the Writ³ before you and⁴ the atheists⁵ as allies; and be in prudent fear⁶ of God if you be believers.⁷

5:77 Say thou: “O doctors of the Law:¹ exceed not bounds in your doctrine² beyond³ the truth;⁴ and follow not the vain desires⁵ of a people who strayed before, and led many astray; and they strayed from the right path.”

6:70 And leave thou those who take their doctrine¹ as play and diversion, and whom the life of this world has deluded; and remind thou with it² lest a soul be given up to destruction³ for what it earned; it has not, besides⁴ God, ally or intercessor. And though⁵ it offer in compensation every equivalence, it will not be accepted from it: those are they who are given up to destruction for what they earned; they have scalding water and a painful punishment for what they denied.

6:137 And thus¹ have their partners² made fair to many among the idolaters³ the killing of their children, to bring them to ruin, and to obfuscate⁴ their doctrine⁵ for them. And had God willed, they would not have done it; so leave thou them and what they fabricate.

6:159 Those who have divided their doctrine¹ and become sects: thou art not of them in anything; their affair is but with God; then will He inform them of what they did.

6:161 Say thou: “As for me, my Lord has guided me to a straight path, a right doctrine,¹ the creed of Abraham, inclining to truth;² and he was not of the idolaters.”³

7:29 Say thou: “My Lord has enjoined equity.¹ Uphold² your countenances³ at every place of worship,⁴ and call to Him, sincere to Him in doctrine;⁵ as He created you, so you will return.”

7:51 “Those who took their doctrine¹ as play and diversion, and whom the life of this world deluded.” — “So this day do We forget them, even as they forgot the meeting of this their day, and as they rejected Our proofs.”²

8:39 And fight them¹ until there is no means of denial,² and the doctrine³ is entirely for God; and if they cease, God sees what they do.

8:49 When¹ the waverers² and those in whose hearts is disease said: “Their doctrine³ has deceived these”; but whoso places his trust in God: — then God is exalted in might and wise.

8:72 Those who heeded warning,¹ and emigrated, and strove with their property and their lives in the cause of God, and those who gave shelter and helped: those are allies one of another. And those who heed warning² but have not emigrated: you are not required to protect them from anything until they emigrate; and if they seek help from you within the doctrine,³ you are required to help save against a people between whom and you is an agreement; and God sees what you do.

9:11 But if they repent,¹ and uphold the duty,² and render the purity,³ then are they your brethren in doctrine;⁴ and We set out and detail⁵ the proofs⁶ for people who know.

9:12 And if they renege on their oaths after their covenant and revile your doctrine,¹ then fight the leaders of denial: they have no oaths² that they might desist.

9:29 Fight¹ those who believe not in² God or the Last Day, and make not unlawful what God and His messenger have made unlawful,³ and adhere not to the doctrine⁴ of truth⁵ among those given⁶ the Writ,⁷ until they make⁸ reparation⁹ under supervision¹⁰ when they are brought low.

9:33 He it is that sent His messenger with the guidance and the doctrine¹ of truth,² that He might make it manifest over all doctrine,³ though the idolaters⁴ be averse.

9:36 The count of months¹ is with God;² twelve months³ were in the Writ⁴ of God⁵ the day⁶ He created the heavens and the earth;⁷ from it⁸ are four⁹ inviolable.¹⁰ That is the right doctrine,¹¹ so wrong not your souls concerning them:¹² — and fight the idolaters¹³ altogether¹⁴ as they fight you altogether, and know that God is with those of prudent fear¹⁵ —

9:122 And it is not for the believers¹ to go forth all at once; and were it not that from every party among them there should go forth a number to gain knowledge in the doctrine,² and to warn their people when they return to them, that they might beware[...].³

10:22 He it is that lets you travel in the earth and the sea; when¹ you have boarded² ships³ and sailed by them with a good breeze and exulted thereat––⁴ A tempest wind came upon them, and the waves came on them from every side, and they thought they were encompassed therein; they called to God, sincere to Him in doctrine:⁵ “If Thou deliver us from this, we will be among the grateful!”

10:104 Say thou: “O mankind: if you are in doubt about¹ my doctrine:² I serve not those whom you serve besides³ God; but I serve God, who will take you;⁴ and I am commanded to be of the believers;⁵

10:105 “And: ‘Set thou thy face¹ towards the doctrine,² inclining to truth;³ and be thou not of the idolaters;⁴

12:40 “You¹ serve, besides² Him, only names which you have named, you and your fathers; God sent not down for them any authority. Judgment is but for God. He commanded that you serve not save Him. That is the right doctrine;³ but most men⁴ know not.

12:76 So he began with their bags before the bag of his brother; then he brought it forth from the bag of his brother. (Thus did We plan for Joseph; he could not have taken his brother within the doctrine¹ of the King save that God had so willed. We raise in degree² whom We will; and over every possessor of knowledge is One knowing.)

15:35 “And the curse is upon thee until the Day of Judgment.”¹

16:52 And to Him belongs what is in the heavens and the earth, and His is the doctrine¹ forever. Will you then be in prudent fear² of other than God?

22:78 And strive for God with the striving due¹ Him. He has chosen you, and has not placed upon you in doctrine² any distress — the creed of your father Abraham. He named you those submitting³ before, and in this,⁴ that the Messenger⁵ might be a witness to you,⁶ and that you might be witnesses to men.⁷ So uphold the duty,⁸ and render the purity,⁹ and hold fast to God; He is your protector. Then excellent is the Protector! And excellent is the Helper!

24:2 The unchaste woman¹ and the unchaste man: lash each one of the two² with a hundred lashes,³ and let not pity for them⁴ take you concerning the doctrine⁵ of God if you believe in⁶ God and the Last Day. And let witness their⁷ punishment a number of the believers.⁸

24:25 That day will God pay them in full their true¹ due;² and they will know that God, He is the Manifest Truth.³

24:55 (God has promised those who heed warning¹ among you and do righteous deeds that He will make them successors in the earth, even as He made those successors who were before them.² And He will establish for them their doctrine³ which He approved for them, and will give them in exchange after their fear, safety. They serve Me; they ascribe not a partnership⁴ with Me to anything — and whoso denies after that: — it is they who are the perfidious.⁵)

26:82 “And who I hope will forgive me my offences¹ on the Day of Judgment.”²

29:65 Then when they embark on the ship, they call to God, sincere to Him in doctrine;¹ but when He delivers them to the land, then they ascribe a partnership,²

30:30 So set thou thy face¹ towards the doctrine,² inclining to truth:³ — the nature⁴ of God with which He created people — (there is no changing the creation of God) that is the right doctrine,⁵ (but most men know not)

30:32 Of those who divide their doctrine¹ and become sects, each party exulting at what it has.²

30:43 So set thou thy face¹ towards the right doctrine² before there comes a day — of which there is no repelling — from God; that day will they be separated.

31:32 And when a wave covers them like canopies they call to God, sincere to Him in doctrine;¹ then when He delivers them to the land, some among them are lukewarm. And none rejects Our proofs² but everyone treacherous and ungrateful.
